A rally in support of Piper's Funfair Kinsale is to get underway in the city in the next hour
The future of the funfair in Kinsale has been cast into doubt as the County Council is seeking a €60,000 bond if the funfair is to occupy it's usual pitch in the town's car park
The bond is being sought as the car park was resurfaced at a cost of €140,000 and the bond is needed to cover any costs if the surface is damaged when the fairground is erected.
In response Pipers have reduced the amount of staking and increased the amount of surface protection and are seeking a reduction in the bond.
A rally was held in Kinsale in April in support of the funfair which has a 90 year history with the town
Supporters say they will not give up until the funfair is reinstated in the tourist town
