Registration has opened for the Cork City Marathon 2023.
The 15th Marathon will take place on Sunday the 4th of June and early bird options are now available for the full and half marathon distances
More than 12,000 people from all over the world took to the start line on St Patrick's Street in the city centre last June as the marathon returned from two years of being run on a virtual basis.
There will be an emphasis on making the event as "green" as possible again this year, with recyclable medals, paperless entry forms and the option to sponsor a tree being planted instead of receiving a t-shirt.
Speaking to RedFM News, Aidan Hogan who is known as "Mr. Motivator" has this advice for people thinking of taking on the challenge:
"You have to have a bit of hunger and a passion to do it. Don't be worried that somebody else is training and so forth. Go to a group if possible because it makes it easier, a lot easier to train with a group than it is to go on your own everyday after work before work, or get the boys in and had the confidence to do it."
