The remains of Ian Bailey were cremated at a private event in Cork yesterday.
The 66-year-old died on Sunday after collapsing in the street in Bantry.
His solicitor Frank Buttimer confirmed the cremation on behalf of Ian Bailey’s next of kin and said no further statement will be issued.
Mr. Bailey was arrested twice in relation to the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier in December 1996, but was never charged in Ireland.
