There were just over 2,400 homes available to rent across the country at the start of this month.
The lack of supply is causing rents to rise with rents in Cork up 10% year on year.
Ronan Lyons from Daft.ie says we are seeing the rental housing market shrink and shrink:
"That's significantly down on the say that the pre-covid average the late 2010's in some parts of the country, the number of homes available to rent is is down 60 or 70% compared to pre-covid levels."
