Rents have risen by 7.7% in Cork City in the last year.
According to figures in the latest DAFT.ie report, the average rent in the city is now €1,731.
Market rents outside in the rest of Cork were on average 8.9% higher in the first quarter of 2023 than a year previously.
The average listed rent outside the city is now €1370, up 130% from its lowest point.
Rents in Munster rose 11.6% year-on-year, reflecting very low availability - just 125 homes were available to rent on May , below the level seen a year ago and roughly one eighth the level of availability seen during the late 2010s.
Nationally, market rents in the first quarter of 2023 were an average of 1% higher than in the final three months of 2022, the smallest quarterly increase since 2020.
Dublin had the highest rent in the country with the average rent €2,337, up 11.2% year-on-year
