Repair works to a burst water main in Fermoy are to begin this morning.
Dramatic footage appeared on social media yesterday evening of significant flooding on Kent bridge in the town.
Irish Water and Cork County Council, attended the site of the burst water main, closed off the flow of water and made the area safe.
Irish Water in a statement to RedFM say the repairs are complex due to the location of the burst water main on the bridge and that works need to be carefully carried out.
The repairs are expected to begin this morning with extensive traffic management needed during this time.
It's expected to takes two to three hours after the works are finished to restore normal supply to all customers.
