The Public Expenditure Minister says Coalition TDs will stick together when it comes to the ending of the eviction ban.
There have been reports of lingering divisions within Government as some expressed concerns over the plan to phase out the ban.
The Taoiseach said yesterday that even if there's a rise in homelessness as a result, it'll not be re-introduced.
Minister Paschal Donohue says extending the ban every few months will be negative in the long-term
"While it's a tough decision to make, I am more acutely aware of the consequences it can have and those who are affected by the decision they are at the forefront of my mind.
The view that I came to, is if we are in a situation that we extend the moratorium quarter by quarter by quarter, ultimately we will end up with less available rental accommodation in our country the time ahead"
