Residents Association Calling For Rental Agreements To Include Clauses Banning House Parties

The Magazine Road Residents Association says students are due to move back into the area around UCC in the coming weeks.

Residents staged a number of protests against lock down house parties and took a case against one landlord in July after neighbours said their lives were being made miserable by persistent noise and anti-social behaviour.

The association says a clause in tenancy agreements is needed to stop a repeat of the disruption caused by the parties and are also calling on the government to move on legislation to put an end to Covid-19 house parties and deal with landlords and tenants who ignore the regulations.

Speaking to RedFM News, Catherine Clancy from the Magazine Road Resident's Association says students need to be made aware of their responsibilities:
