Residents of a flood hit housing estate in Mogeely say they feel forgotten as flood defence plans are being rolled out in nearby Midleton
Around 30 homes at Gleann Fia were severely damaged in the wake of Storm Babet, with residents forced to gut the bottom floors of their homes to stop the damp from rising.
The residents only have a soakaway in their green and are not connected to the main storm drainage system
Speaking to RedFM News Local Cllr Liam Quaide says the housing estate is very exposed to flooding
"On October 18, there was only two houses out of thirty two spared, but they also had a near miss event on St Stephen's night as floodwaters came very close to breaching the estate again. And they have built a makeshift defence at the back with sandbags and there's huge, huge worry about could this happen again in a week, could it happen again in a few months?"
