Locals in the Riverstick area have expressed concern after a piece of Coillte land in Ballymartle Woods has gone sale agreed.
Coillte says it's their understanding that the nine hectares of land would remain under forest with a potential recreational offering that would benefit the local community.
However local politicians say Coillte hasn't revealed what the development is for - whether it's for housing or commerical forestry.
Coillte says the existing walking trails in Ballymartle woods are not included in the sale and are unaffected by it.
Collite says any enhancements of the site for sale would have to follow the planning and forestry regulations and say they're committed to engaging with the local community and addressing their concerns.
