Roads in many parts of Cork remain in a treacherous condition following another night of sub zero temperatures across the county.
A Status Orange low temperature and ice warning is still in place until 11 this morning.
A Status Yellow low temperature and ice warning will remain in place for the entire country until lunchtime tomorrow.
Motorists are being warned to prepare for black ice even on treated roads.
Cathal Nolan of Irelands Weather Channel says temperatures will plummet again tonight.
"We'' get another cold night tonight, but it will mark the end of this cold spell. From Friday onwards we'll see an improvement."
