The Road Safety Authority and the Gardai are launching the October Bank Holiday campaign and National Slow Down Day day at an event on the N71 later this morning.
A Garda checkpoint will be mounted on the road at the Viaduct just outside the City this morning at 11am.
The RSA and Gardai will be renewing their appeal for motorists to reduce their speed and be mindful of vulnerable road users ahead of National 'Slow Down' Day.
