'Get your mind in gear' for the frosty conditions this week.
That's the message from the RSA - which says extreme care is needed on the country's roads.
Motorists are advised to take their time and make sure their car is fully roadworthy.
Met Eireann has issued a national status yellow low temperature and ice warning for Thursday and Friday.
"Hazardous conditions" are predicted, as temperatures fall to minus four degrees overnight on Thursday.
Brian Farrell from the RSA wants everyone to stay safe.
"The challenging conditions really could catch us all out.
"So we're advising road users to just keep keep tuned into the weather reports and especially heed the advice that local authorities and Gardai are giving.
"Your car needs to be fit for purpose, to be able to handle the conditions and the most important thing to do is to check the tires because they're the only contact you have with the roads."
