The CEO of Ryanair says he expects the price of flights to increase before Christmas.
Eddie Wilson was speaking at Cork Airport yesterday after the airline announced it will reopen it's Cork base as part of a €200 million investment.
The budget airline will operate 20 routes from Cork and say they will be offering a full return to pre-pandemic levels for Summer 2022.
Speaking to RedFM News at Cork Airport, Eddie Wilson said the airline were delighted to be back in Cork but struck a note of caution about the cost of flying over the next few months.
"Prices are probably likely to rise next summer, because we have extraordinary pent up demand, and also there's less capacity in the European market, about 20% less.
"People are not going to be travelling long haul for leisure purposes in the numbers that they were.
"That's going to lead to price rises into December as well.
"My advice today is to book early to get the lowest fairs."
