Ryanair is to base another aircraft in Cork

The airline says the €100 million investment will see a 21% increase in passenger numbers this summer

The low fares airline will operate 33 routes out of Cork this Summer though passengers may see a hike in fares as the delayed delivery of aircraft from Boeing and Airbus has led to a constraint in passenger capacity

Speaking to RedFM News Ryanair's Dara Brady says while their summer growth is less than originally planned it's still good news for Cork

"Thirty three routes operating out of Cork this Summer, twenty one percent growth, you know, an extra hundred million euro investment with a fourth aircraft. So you know, lots of positive news for Cork, and we would like to see that continue over the coming years,  as we continue to grow to three hundred million passengers in our overall business, there'll be plenty of opportunity for growth around our network"
