The Save Cork City Group say it's very unfair the finger of blame is being pointed at the campaign group following severe flooding in the city this morning.
It follows a direct apppeal by the OPW Minister to the group to withhdraw their objections to the €150million Lower Lee Flood Relief Scheme and by doing so prevent any further delays to the project.
In a statment issued to RedFM News this evening the group say they're very saddened to see people in difficulty due to today's flooding and say people suffering on the ground deserve far better.
Representatives of the campaign group say they visited flood-hit business owners in the city today and were well received. They say they accept their role in the issue of flood defence and ask the OPW to own that they have failed to find a solution that is fair to the people of Cork.
