Gardaí investigating the disappearance of Kieran Quilligan who was last seen at the start of September are searching farmland in Co Cork this evening.
Around a dozen officers are currently involved in the search.
Officers began their search for the missing 47-year-old in Little Island earlier today.
Gardaí have cordoned off the entrance to private land close to Courtstown Industrial Estate and are searching fields and the coastline.
It’s not yet known what led Gardaí to the farmland close to one of Cork’s major industrial hubs- Garda Press say they have no further comment and are not putting forward a spokesperson.
Kieran Quilligan was last seen in the St Finbarr's Place area of Cork City on September 1st.
Gardaí held a press conference close to the spot where he was last seen on Sunday to appeal to anyone with any information to come forward.
Investigating officers say he was not seen leaving the area and that his phone and bank account have shown no activity since he went missing.
