A secondary school on the northside of the city has applied for planning permission for a major extension - which is expected to cost in the region of 16 million euro.
Gaelcholáiste Mhuire on the grounds of the North Mon on Monastery Road are looking for approval for a 4,600 square meter extension.
The Echo is reporting this morning that the proposed extension would comprise of 25 new classrooms, including a media studies rooms, two science labs, two design and communication graphics rooms, a technology room, a library and an art room.
Attendance at the "oideachas trí Ghaeilge" school has boomed from 350 pupils back in 2010 to 670 at present and is expected to reach 740 pupils at full capacity.
