A full scale security operation has swung into action on Washington Street in Cork City
Gardai along with units of the fire service have cordoned off an area around the Courthouse
In a statement issued to RedFM News Gardaí say they are are aware of a number of security alerts at several locations across the city this morning .
During the operation staff at the Mercy University Hospital were evacuated this morning as a precautionary measure
Gardai say following further enquiries they are satisfied that all of the alerts have been deemed as hoax and the areas have been declared safe.
