A set of six arts and crafts style chairs, gifted by Michael Collins to one of his sisters as a wedding present and an Irish flag from his state car, are set to go under the hammer next week during a special sale at Bloomfield Auctions in East Belfast.
These are the latest items belonging to the Irish Republican Army (IRA) Commander to be auctioned off in Belfast.
In September 2021, Collins’ walking stick sold for an impressive £52,000 and in March this year, a lock of his hair made £18,000.
Bloomfield Auctions Managing Director, Karl Bennett anticipates that the items will garner a great amount of interest during the upcoming sale.
“At Bloomfield Auctions, we are synonymous with historic sales and this upcoming one is no different, we have had a number of interesting items belonging to Michael Collins over recent months, all of which gathered quite a lot of global interest and I don’t expect this upcoming sale to be any different."
