There was over an 11% rise in the number of new cars sold in Cork in 2021 compared to 2020.
The Society of the Irish Motor Industry's Annual Report shows that 12,347 new cars were registered in the county last year.
The SIMI figures also show that nationally new car sales grew by 19% on 2020 but are still 10% down on 2019 figures.
The number of new electric cars registered jumped by over 4, 000 to 8,646.
The hatchback remains Ireland’s top selling car body type, while grey remains the top selling colour for the sixth year in a row.
