SIPTU say the latest incident at Stryker in Carrigtwohill shows the need for a full safety audit of the company's facilities.
The company's Tullagreen facility was evacuated after a fire broke out and four units of the Fire Service attended the scene yesterday.
No one was injured in the fire, which happened a week after another fire on the roof of the company's Anngrove left a 41 year old man in critical condition.
SIPTU say their members at Stryker's plants in Carrigtwohill have expressed "grave concern" about their safety and want to see immediate action to ensure the company's obligations to provide a safe working environment are being fully met.
Speaking to RedFM News, Neil McGowan from SIPTU says management should meet with them to discuss safety.
"The Tanaiste and a lot of the Cork East TD have asked the company to meet with the union to deal with these issues.
"It's just not tenable anymore that a company that is in receipt of IDA funding has ignored three Labour Court recommendations that have all set that the company should sit down and engage with the union.
"We're going to continue the campaign to get the company to sit down and engage with us on these critical health and safety issues."
