SIPTU is calling on Stryker Carrigtwohill to accept the Taoiseach’s advice and engage with the union
It comes following a two-year investigation of a SIPTU complaint concerning Stryker’s refusal to engage with the Union at its Carrigtwohill plant.
Speaking to RedFM News SIPTU's Greg Ennis says staff at Stryker's other plants have benefited from collectively bargained agreements and this should not be denied to the staff in Carrigtwohill
"At Limerick and Macroom we have a very healthy industrial relations environment, there are no strikes, no disputes. At the green field site at Carrigtowhill, the company has failed to comply with the Labour Court, failed to comply with the NCP, and now the Taoiseach is talking about it on the basis of, you know, why don't they engage? Because we have hundreds of members at the Stryker Carrigtwohill facility, and they clearly want to be represented by a trade union"
