The skeletal remains of six people have now been found under the partially demolished Nancy Spain's pub in the city.
The new discoveries on the site on Barrack St comes almost two weeks after the discovery of a partial human skeleton during groundworks as the site is being cleared for a Cork City Council social housing project.
The remains are fragmentary and predate the current 19th-century building on the site and are likley to be 18th century or earlier.
City Archaeologist with Cork City Council Ciara Brett told RedFM News that the human remains are being fully recorded and will be removed by experts but that could take a couple of months.
"We're still archaeologically investigating it on the site.
"The Barrack Street area was part of the suburbs of the medieval city, and it's obviously very important historically and archaeologically.
"We have Elizabeth Fort just down the road from the site, and we have the site of the Gallow's Green up near Greenmount, just about 500 metres from Nancy Spain's, so it could be related to either of those things.
"Once the remains are removed from the site, and we do a post excavations analysis we'll have a better understanding of what the remains may be and what era they come from."
