The Tánaiste has turned the sod on the new Munster Rugby Cork Centre of Excellence.
Cork City Council invested 1.2 million euro into the centre at Virgin Media Park for underage players.
Local schools and communities are also set to benefit from the all-weather training pitch and gym which will open next year.
Speaking to RedFM News Tánaiste Micheál Martin says the centre will be a first class facility in Cork:
"Munster Rugby has given so much to Irish sport, to Irish rugby and to the people in Munster who support our Munster players. It's only appropriate and fitting that we would provide and contribute to providing such a first class facility here in Cork."
