Speeding on rural roads is set to be targeted as part of this year's National Slow Down Day.
The joint Garda and Road Safety Authority initiative will operate from 7am tomorrow to 7am on Friday.
9 people have been killed on Cork roads so far this year with four out of five fatalities this year happening on rural roads.
Sam Waide of the Road Safety Authority told RedFM News that it's vital that motorists are reminded of the risk and dangers they cause if they speed excessively.
