Card spending in Cork in July - dropped by two per cent - compared to the previous month.
However, card spending among teenagers nationally jumped by 17 per cent, according to the Bank of Ireland.
There was a two per cent increase in spending on socialising in July, with spending in pubs up 4 per cent, restaurants up 3 per cent and fast-food outlets up 1 per cent.
Foreign spending rose in popular European hotspots, like Croatia up 28 per cent, Portugal up 9 per cent, and Italy up 5 per cent.
