The decision to split a school in Carrigaline across two sites is expected to be re-considered.
Concerns were raised after it emerged that some classes from Owenabue Educate Together National School would be relocated to Carrigaline Educate Together School's site in Killnageary.
The school told RedFM News that travelling between the schools could take between 30 and 40 minutes during rush hour traffic.
The Department of Education says its exploring all potential options to ensure that an appropriate solution is put in place.
