A status yellow thunderstorm warning has been issued for the entire country from tomorrow.
It comes as a heatwave has officially been declared, after temperatures exceeded 25 degrees for the fifth day in a row, with Moore Park in Fermoy recording 28.8 degrees.
The status yellow hot weather warning is in place until Monday morning at 6 o'clock.
However, there's a warning that thunderstorm activity - along with hail and heavy downpours - may lead to spot flooding and hazardous driving conditions.
