A Status Yellow wind and rain warning are in place for Cork this morning.
Motorists to take extra care with fallen debris in many areas.
Up to 50 millimetres of rain's expected to fall in parts of the country today.
Cathal Nolan from Ireland's Weather Channel says conditions will be poor throughout the day:
"Gusts as high as 110km per hour are expected right across the country, possibly exceeding that around the south west of the country.
"Certainly all areas can expect to see unseasonably windy conditions and with that some pretty heavy spells of rain."
