A Status Yellow wind and rain warning is in place for Cork until 3 o'clock this afternoon as Storm Debi makes tracks across the country.
The city and county councils are warning motorists to take care on the roads after a Status Orange wind warning ended at 4 o'clock this morning.
Schools and creches have delayed opening until 10am and Bus Eireann says there will be delays on services as well as school bus services.
Irish Rail says speed restrictions are in place on their services which will cause delays.
58,000 homes and businesses across the country are without power this morning as a red weather warning for wind is coming to an end for 8 counties.
An orange alert remains in place for 19 counties until 10am.
