The Housing Minister says Storm Barra has turned out to be 'as severe as predicted', as people in red and orange counties are being urged to stay at home.

Anglesea Street Gardai say there are no major issues to report in the city this morning while Gardai in Midleton say all roads are clear
Minister Darragh O'Brien says the emergency response has been activated, with councils given everything they need.
"Preparations have been taking place for this event since late last week.
"We are well prepared, and the local authorities have all the resources they need to be able to carry out their really important week.
"I've just arrived at Dublin Castle for Cabinet, and you can see that people have heeded the warning and are obviously working from home and staying in."
