SIPTU members employed at the National Advocacy Service have resumed strike action as part of a pay dispute

NAS provides assistance to more than 1,500 disabled people each year with in-person advocacy interventions

Pickets have been placed at NAS locations across the country as part of the indefinite strike action - including outside their offices on North Main Street and Bantry

Speaking to RedFM News Regional Manager of NAS Micheál Walsh says all they want is the Labour Court recommendation to be implemented as it was in the pilots dispute

"I can't see  how the State can stand over a fully funded instrument of theirs and not do the same for us, where the Labour Court recommendation should be the last show in town. As the Minister and Government have said, and if it's the last show in town for pilots, it should be the last show in town for those who support people with disabilities as well"
