Students who set up an encampment on the Quad at University College Cork says the President of the college has yet to respond to their demonstration.

Up to 10 tents were set up on Tuesday evening by members of UCC BDS who want the college to condemn the Israeli State for the ongoing war in Gaza.

The students, who are demanding the college cut ties with Israeli institutions, are determined to remain there until their demands are met.

Morgan Hegarty from UCC BDS told RedFM News that he is surprised by the lack of engagement by college authorities:

"We're still waiting on them to engage but we're following up with that, and seeking to get meetings to communicate our demands directly to UCC. The quad is right outside John O'Halloran's Office, the President of UCC, so we were surprised that he hasn't come out to say hello".
