Students on College Road say they can't cook or shower in their own homes because of brown dirty tap water.

Residents across the city have been complaining of water discolouration as more flushing works took place over the weekend.

Uisce Éireann says its continuing to carry out works to resolve the problem which causes households to spend hundreds of euro on bottled water every month.

Seán Óg who is living on College Road told RedFM News he's spending his student years in disgusting and unlivable conditions:

"The water is just dirty, like you can't drink from it. We can't clean our dishes from it. We can't really shower from it, like we find ourselves going to other people's houses to shower, and like we just have to go out and buy water. Like it's just not livable, to be honest, it's disgusting."
