Students at MTU say the lack of public transport available to get to campuses in Cork is having a severe impact on their education.

Students walked out of their classes today to highlight the lack of student accommodation, public transport and parking near the college.

In response MTU say they are looking at facilitating off-campus parking and are working with local authorities to improve public transport.

Speaking to RedFM News, MTU Student Union President Isobel Kavanagh, says there are not enough buses running for students to get to college:

"When the bus does pull up in front of them its full and they can't get on it, then they're going to be late for the 9am lecture. If the bus drives past them then they're more than likely going to just go home, so it's just adding stress and pressure to their day, that they don't need. They should be enjoying their college experience."
