Gardai say a rental scam uncovered in the city has seen renters lose €24,000.
Students are being warned about rental fraud after Gardai confirmed that there were 20 incidents reported in the city in the first five months of this year.
The scam, which has been widely reported, saw a number of people duped into handing over large amounts of money for properties.
In one case one of the properties did not exist, and in another case one renter discovered after paying their deposit that the property wasn't actually up for rent.
