The Sudanese community in Cork is organising a rally in the city centre this lunchtime - calling for an end to the violence.
The "Standing with Sudan - United Against War' Peace Rally gets underway at Daunt Square at the top of Patrick's Street and Grand Parade at 1 o'clock this afternoon.
So far, 163 Irish citizens and their dependents have been evacuated from the country, as many states try to get their citizens out safely.
Hundreds of people have been killed in the conflict between the the army and a paramilitary group, the RSF.
A ceasefire in the country had been extended, but there are numerous reports that fighting is continuing.
Speaking to RedFM News, General Secretary of the Cork Sudanese Association, Dr Osama Ali says the international community needs to push for peace:
"We are coming together to form a united civilian front against war. We'll be calling for protection of civilians, for a ceasefire, and for humanitarian efforts to be directed to Sudan. We'll be calling on the Irish government, we'll be calling on the EU, on all of our friends from outside, that we are all against war.
