39 people employed at the store were told on the 13th of December that the store will close at the end of January.
In a statement to RedFM News, SuperValu say their priority is to support staff in finding jobs within the stores network and beyond.
The statement goes on to say that the decision to close the store was not taken lightly and every option to address the long term viability of the store was considered before making a final decision.
SuperValu say increased trading challenges, as well as decreased footfall in the shopping centre have contributed to significant losses for the store.
