The Tánaiste says violence at underage matches is unacceptable.
It comes as two violent incidents broke out at two separate GAA matches during the week.
One match between Nemo Rangers and Grenagh and another between Na Piarsiagh and Ballinhassig.
Rebel Óg says it’s investigating the incidents.
In a statement to RedFM News regarding the incident between Na Piarsiagh and Ballinhassig Chairman Michael O’Mahony said:
“We have been made aware that there was an incident and we are awaiting the referees report which we are expecting very shortly. The matter will be dealt with under the disiplinary processes of the association. Obviously our most immediate concern is the welfare of the individual involved."
Speaking to RedFM News, Tánaiste Micheál Micheál Martin says violence in sport is not tolerated:
"Well I've been at underage matches where things get overheated and as an under 16 player we lost a final and all hell broke loose, but not good afterwards when you think about it, we need to cop on like."
