48 workers across Cork are facing redundancy as the fashion retailer New Look closes it's Irish operations

New Look has four stores across Cork in Ballincollig, Blackpool, Wilton and Opera Lane

A total of 347 staff across the country will be made redundant as a result of the move

Speaking to RedFM News Taoiseach Micheál Martin says it's disappointing to see the stores closing

"Obviously, when a retail outlet like that closes, it's very difficult for the workers in the first instance. and we want people who come into Ireland to have a good experience here. It's a very competitive market, the retail clothing market so I was disappointed to hear it, but we will do everything we can to support the workers"
