Cork TD Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire raised the issue in the Dáil today after families were recently told for a third time that the release of the report will be delayed.
It was revealed last September that the organs of 18 babies were transported to Belgium with clinical waste at the start of the pandemic.
RedFM News has spoken to families whose babies organs were among those incinerated without their knowledge.
The families say the continued delay in releasing the completed report is very stressful for them.
Speaking in the Dáil, Cork TD Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire says the families need answers:
"It was a shocking incidence for baby's organs to be disposed of along with medical waste. In the aftermath, the Minister for Health said that there will be numerous reviews and that they will be conducted in a timely matter. The families involved have now been told for a third time that there will be a delay in furnishing them with the report of the review team, despite the fact that it is complete. That's unacceptable, Taoiseach. I spoke to one of the women involved on Monday and she was deeply upset by this. Taoiseach, we need an assurance that this will be published or given to the families as soon as possible and that there will be no further delays and that you find out the reason for the delay."
