Speech and Drama teacher Niamh Kelleher who runs Funky Kidz drama classes throughout Cork says running classes outside is impossible.

The Performing Arts Educators of Ireland today called on the Government to relax restrictions on children's performing arts classes for September.

They say that not all children want to play sport and the children who need artistic, emotional, and intellectual education are suffering.

Speaking to RedFM News, Owner of Funky Kids Speech and Drama Niamh Kelleher needs a secure date for reopening:

"It's absolutely crazy think that we can run our businesses, outdoors, when we're in the Irish climate, it's just not possible in order to get us back to work, we really need a date, we need the government to tell us exactly when we can go back, they need to give up notice so that we can organise our staff, our insurances, our venues. They're just putting us into a very very difficult position at the moment, and it's causing severe anxiety among the teachers in this industry."
