Gardaí attempted to stop a speeding car on the M8 between Mitchelstown and Fermoy at around 6:30.
The driver refused to stop and Gardaí pursued the car, eventually stopping it in Castlemartyr.
The man in his late teens was arrested at the scene and has been charged in relation to the incident.
He'll appear before Fermoy District Court, which is sitting in Mallow, later this morning.
