A status yellow high temperature warning is now in place across the country until Saturday morning.

Showers are also likely to hit East Cork and these will be heavy with thunderstorms and spot flooding likely
Despite conditions being quite overcast in some places, Emer Flood from Met Éireann says it will still be very warm
"Some breaks in the clouds day for a lot of places across the country, we will see some hazy sunshine at times but there is some cloud as well moving into the South East of the country this morning so maybe a bit cloudy here from time to time today, but nonetheless very warm across the country"
