Temperatures are set to hit 30 degrees or possibly higher in some parts again today as the latest summer heatwave continues.
A status yellow alert for high temperatures comes into effect for the entire country at midday today and runs until Sunday morning.
Aoife Kealy is a forecaster with Met Eireann and says temperatures could set new records again today.
"Temperatures today we could see them getting up to 25-30 degrees generally, but we could get a little bit higher in a few inland spots of Leinster and Munster.
"On top of that we are going to get some sea breezes developing in the afternoon, so if you are near the coast it is till going to be quite warm, but it's not going to be quite as warm there."
