A temporary healthcare service is to be set up in Blarney following the loss of it's only GP facility.
The issue was raised in the Dáil this morning by Cork TD Pádraig O'Sullivan, who says scaremongering in the community surrounding the issue must stop, and called for reassurance for the 1,600 patients affected.
In response, Minister of State for Public Health Frank Feighan said Cork Kerry Community Healthcare are taking steps to ensure patients in the area will have access to appropriate care.
He outlined that plans for an interim service to begin in the new year are ongoing, and that this service will continue until a permanent solution is found.
Speaking in the Dáil this morning, Minister Frank Feighan says people in the area will be issued updates on the service as they are confirmed.
