Tenants at Fort Street say their living conditions have become unbearable.

Residents say their children cannot sleep with the sound of rats running through the walls and are surrounded by mouldy damp walls.

Speaking to RedFM News, Anita Mukhtar who lives in a Fort Street flat says antisocial behaviour by squatters at Noonan's Road has made the area unsafe:

"A few times we're calling Gardaí because there are needles and stuff on the ground, it's not nice you know when you are bringing children to school."
