Work to rule might not be the worst case scenario for holiday makers this summer - that's the opinion of the Vice President of the Irish Travel Agents Association .

After disputes over pay increases, Aer Lingus pilots announced an indefinite work-to-rule starting next Wednesday.

They'll honour their rostered hours but won't engage in over-time or any other out of hours duties.

Paul Hacknett says this might not last long as Aer Lingus are already seeing the effects.

"Don't forget, Aer Lingus are already suffering in terms of the financial impact on late bookings. The consumers are just not booking in terms of the lates market because of this level of uncertainty and I think it's losing out there. So, you know, hopefully common sense prevails and disputes get resolved and people start talking to each other again"
