Joe O'Reilly is serving a life sentence for Rachel's murder in the Naul, North County Dublin in 2004, and is due before the parole board.
Rachel's body was discovered inside her own home by her mother Rose
Prior to her death, the mum of two had dropped both of her children off at a creche and a school.
Her fatal injuries were caused at the hands of her husband Joe O'Reilly, who used a dumbbell to attack his wife.
Rachel's mother Rose is writing to the parole board about her concerns
"He's 16 years in there now, is 16 years enough of taking someone's freedom because that's all that happened to him. I'm not saying, I would like to be in there but he brought it on himself, he chose that the day he took took our Rachel's life"
